Search BC Personal Property Registry by Individual or Business Debtor Name
$22.00
This report reveals whether an individual or business has any registered liens against personal property in British Columbia. It covers all assets tied to the debtor’s name – not just one item – and shows active financial claims recorded in the registry.
A lien may be registered against personal property such as:
- Vehicles, equipment, or boats
- Licences or chattel paper
- Fixtures or crops attached to land (but not the land itself)
To perform this search, you’ll need to provide:
- The full legal name of an individual (including any middle names), or
- The exact legal business or corporation name
This type of search provides a broader view of a debtor’s secured obligations across multiple assets.
Best for: Lenders, legal professionals, or anyone conducting background checks, credit risk assessments, or verifying a debtor’s overall lien activity.
Optional Add-On: Personal Property Lien History Report
When searching by an individual or business name, the optional History Report provides a deeper look at how each lien has changed over time – only available if the lien has been amended, renewed, or discharged.
Include this section to your report if:
- You want to see whether a debtor or collateral was previously removed.
- You need to track amendments, renewals, discharges, or court orders.
- You’re doing legal due diligence, risk assessment, or verifying the chain of financial activity.
