Change BC Business Registration

Keep your sole proprietorship or general partnership information current with BC Registries. If you’re looking to change your business name, update the nature of your business, or modify your business mailing and/or delivery address, we streamline the process for you.

• • Change of business name: Your new business name must be approved by BC Registries before we can update it on your business registration. If you’ve done this already, we’ll just need your Name Request (NR) number to update your info in the registry. If your new business name hasn’t been approved yet, we can help with that too – just add our Business Name Request service to your order.

• • Update the nature of your business: If your business activities have changed, we can update your business registration accordingly in the BC Registry. You’ll just need to provide us with the new NAICS code – a 6-digit number used to classify what your business does. You can search for your code on the Statistics Canada website.

• Change of address: Use this service to update your business delivery or mailing address, and/or the business owner’s address in your registry filing. Sole proprietors must use a residential address. We can also update the email address used to contact your business.
